The journey at a glance
Straight-line estimate for a direct flight from Heathrow. Real flights often take longer.
From the airport to your hotel
- Dubai Metro (Red Line) runs from Terminals 1 and 3 into the city.
- Taxis to Downtown or the Marina take 15 to 40 minutes.
- Pink-roofed taxis for women and families can be booked in advance.
Dubai as a stopover
Dubai sits halfway between the UK and much of Asia, Africa and Australia, which makes it one of the world's busiest hubs. A two- or three-night stopover breaks up a long journey to Thailand, the Maldives or Australia, and some airlines include hotel deals.
Before you go
- Overnight flights land early morning. Hotels may charge for early check-in.
