Weather abroad
Where will the weather be good?

British holidays are built around chasing the sun, and the hard part is knowing where it'll actually be warm. Málaga in March can feel like a good British June. Dubai in August is too hot to walk outside. Cape Town is at its best when we're in our coats.
Search a country for its temperatures through the year, or pick a month below to see where's hot.
The four temperature bands
Our weather filter colours each place by its average temperature in the month you choose.
25°C or more on average. Beach weather, and too hot for long walks in the middle of the day.
18 to 24°C. T-shirt days and comfortable evenings, ideal for exploring.
10 to 17°C. Like a good British spring. Pack layers and a light jacket.
Under 10°C. Coats, hats and maybe snow. Great for winter breaks, not for sunbathing.

- These are 24-hour averages. Afternoons are usually 4 to 8°C warmer, nights cooler. A 20°C average often means 25°C at lunchtime.
- Sea temperature lags behind. The Mediterranean is warmest in late August and September, not June.
- Humidity changes everything. 30°C in Dubai in April feels pleasant. 30°C in Bangkok in April feels like a sauna.
- Rain matters as much as heat. South-East Asia and the Caribbean are hot all year, but have wet and hurricane seasons. Check our when-to-go guides.
Before you book
- Check the average temperature for the month you're going, not the peak summer figure.
- Check rainy and hurricane seasons for tropical trips.
- Pack for nights too: deserts and mountains get cold after dark.
- Check the sea temperature if swimming is the point.
