No accounts, nothing stored on our servers

Waymark has no sign-up and no accounts. The countries, pins, trips and notes you add are saved only in your own browser (its localStorage) on this device. We can't see them, and they aren't sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data for this site deletes them; using another browser or device starts a fresh map.

What the site does send

• Fare search. When you press Find fares, the site asks our server for prices on your bucket-list routes: your chosen UK airport, the month and the destination airport codes. Nothing that identifies you is included. Our server looks the prices up with Travelpayouts (Aviasales) and caches them.
• Place search. When you search for a place to pin that isn't in the built-in town list, the place name and country go to our server, which looks them up with Photon (OpenStreetMap data, run by komoot) and caches the answer.
• Fonts and libraries load from Google Fonts, cdnjs and jsDelivr, which see your IP address as any website would.
• Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes requests to serve the site and may keep short-lived logs for security.

Cookies

Waymark itself sets no cookies and uses no analytics. We ask before loading anything that might.

• Affiliate partner script (only if you accept). If you click Accept in the cookie banner, the site loads a script from our affiliate partner Travelpayouts (from emrldtp.com). It may set cookies and read basic details about your visit, so that bookings you make through our travel links are credited to Waymark. If you click Reject, or don't choose, it never loads.
• Your choice is remembered in your browser's localStorage (as waymark-consent), not in a cookie. You can change it at any time with Cookie settings, also at the bottom of every page. Cookies the partner script already set can be removed in your browser's settings.

If you follow a link to a flight or hotel site (Aviasales, Skyscanner, Google Flights, Booking.com), that site has its own privacy policy and may set cookies, including affiliate cookies that tell it you came from Waymark. See the affiliate disclosure.

Your rights

Because we don't hold personal data about you, there is normally nothing for us to access, correct or delete: your data stays on your device and you control it.
