Questions people ask

Is Waymark's guidance the same as the FCDO's?
It's based on it. We summarise the UK Foreign Office's travel advice in plain English, link to the official page, and say when we last checked it. The FCDO page always has the final word.
Who are these guides for?
UK travellers with a British citizen passport. Visa and healthcare rules can differ for other passports.
How do the guides connect to the map?
Each guide matches one of the map's Explore filters, and every rating uses the same levels and colours, so you can read about a country here and see the whole world on the map.

Waymark summarises official UK government (FCDO) travel advice and other public sources to help you plan. It is not a substitute for that advice, which can change at short notice. Always read the latest FCDO page for your destination and check your insurance before you book. Content last checked 22 October 2026.
