Kutná Hora grew rich from silver mines in the Middle Ages, and it once rivalled Prague. Its Gothic St Barbara's Cathedral is one of the finest in central Europe.
It's best known for the Sedlec Ossuary, a small chapel decorated with the bones of about 40,000 people. It's an easy day trip, about an hour by train from Prague.
