Bergen is Norway's second city, set between seven mountains, with the colourful wooden wharf of Bryggen, a UNESCO site, on its harbour.
It's the starting point for fjord trips such as 'Norway in a Nutshell', and the Fløibanen funicular gives great views. It's known for rain, so pack a waterproof.
