Pastel villages, lemon groves and a cliffside road

The Amalfi Coast is a 50km stretch of cliffs south of Naples, with Positano, Amalfi and Ravello clinging to the slopes above the sea. Lemon groves, terraces and sea views are everywhere.
The coast road is famously narrow and twisty, so ferries are often the best way between villages. It's a place for slow days: a swim, a long lunch and a sunset spritz.
What Amalfi Coast is known for

- Lemons and limoncello
Giant lemons grown on terraces and turned into liqueur.

SITA buses and ferries link the villages. Ferries run from Salerno and Naples in summer. Driving is stressful and parking is scarce.
Good to know
- Ferries stop in rough weather and most run only from April to October.
- The buses get very full in summer: board at the first stop if you can.
- Lots of hotels are reached by steps, so pack light.
