Eger is a pretty baroque town in the hills north-east of Budapest, famous for its castle, where the town held off a huge Ottoman army in 1552, and for its Bull's Blood red wine.
In the Valley of the Beautiful Women, dozens of small cellars carved into the hillside pour local wines for a few coins a glass.
